INTERNATIONAL SANCTIONS AGAINST RUSSIA


International sanctions against Russia are a series of restrictions first introduced in 2014 by the US,  EU, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Norway and Japan. The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020. As a result, EU sanctions remained in effect in the UK during the transition period (23:00 January 31, 2020 to 23:00 December 31, 2020). After the transition, the  UK sanctions regime took effect under the 2018 Sanctions and Money Laundering Act. The US,  EU,  UK, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, Norway and Japan are referred to as “implementing countries”. Sanctions are subject to specific Russian and Ukrainian topics and individuals due to the political situation in Ukraine. The United States and the EU were the first time for the first time, and other countries followed this by introducing similar sanctions. The  sanctions called the called citizens (defined below) and the main sector of the Russian economy. The sanctions of the United States also provide  the possibility of forced secondary sanctions for individuals for US diplomatic policies and national security interests and specific activities that are contradictory.

In order to comply with the International Sanctions program it is important to determine whether a particular transaction is impacted (for example, whether certified people, and / or product is included). Analyze appropriate sanctions from the viewpoint of implementation of each country.
